I Legend AI is a Malaysia-based applied AI development and training company founded in 2024, built on collaboration with Legend College Preparatory in Cupertino, California. Our U.S. partner has over 30 years of academic innovation, and has contributed to NASA-affiliated research in robotics, visual recognition systems, and autonomous mission technologies during the 2019 Mission to Mars initiative.
Our core team includes AI engineers from Silicon Valley and Taiwan, who lead our 6-month online applied AI program. The program provides hands-on learning in modern AI frameworks, lightweight model development, and real-world integration for industry use.
We believe that AI skills should not be limited to those with privilege.
Our mission is to create pathways for underrepresented and underserved students to gain access to industry-relevant AI knowledge, mentorship, and employment opportunities.
After the training phase, graduates work with our engineering network to design lightweight AI solutions for partnered industries. These solutions are then refined, replicated, and scaled to new sectors in 12-month innovation cycles — forming a sustainable, talent-driven AI ecosystem in Malaysia.

I Legend AI Leadership Team
Mohd Ariff Ismail--Applied AI Strategy
He brings over 20 years of experience in Silicon Valley, working across enterprise technology, AI capability development, and data-driven systems. A graduate of San Jose State University (B.Sc. MIS) with concentrations in Databases and Networks, he has hands-on expertise in SQL, UNIX systems, network security, and GPU-based computation.
He previously worked with Barracuda Networks in Mountain View and later served as a Computer Analyst at San Jose State University for nearly a decade, including managing IBM AS/400 environments and enterprise software systems.
His industry journey extended into blockchain hardware optimization and GPU mining efficiency, before transitioning into AI applications under guidance from Silicon Valley and Taiwan-based AI research engineers.
Ariff leads iLegend AI’s direction in applied AI training, lightweight model development, and academic-industry collaboration.
Mohd Latiff Ismail— Operations & Industry Integration
He brings a unique foundation of discipline, navigation, logistics planning, and large-scale operational management.
A graduate of Marine Academy, he served as a Second Officer and Ship Navigator for 7 years, operating in complex global maritime systems.
Transitioning to industry, he contributed over 10 years to automotive manufacturing and logistics, including roles with Toyota and Petronas supply chain divisions.
He oversees industry engagement, operational deployment, and integration of AI pilot projects into small and medium industries across Malaysia, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and economically viable.
Capt. (R) Baharudin: Governance & Security Systems
Captain (R) Baharudin is a graduate of the Cadet Officer School (COS) in Portsea, Victoria, Australia and a former officer of the Royal Military College Malaysia.
He served with distinction in the 22nd Commando Regiment (7 years) and 1st Ranger Regiment (3 years), giving him deep leadership experience in strategic coordination, discipline management, and operational precision.
With more than 20 years in security and surveillance consulting, Capt. Baharudin ensures that iLegend AI’s systems and training environments maintain integrity, safety, and alignment with national interests, particularly when deploying AI in defense-adjacent or critical infrastructure sectors.
